Cold Star Media is run by musician, writer and filmmaker Richard Evans, working collaboratively with award-winning producers, artists and technicians from music, theatre, digital media, literature, television and film to deliver projects at the intersection of art and science.
Cold Star creates future visions, human stories and global themes for audiences seeking intelligent entertainment and thought-provoking content. Projects include live concerts, immersive experiences, narrative video, music releases and smartphone apps.
Company development, virtual studio facilities and productions are supported by awards from Arts Council England, Creative UK and Innovate UK (via MITIH), as well as a partnership with the University of Salford at MediaCityUK.
Exploring themes from pandemics to climate change, AI to robotics, Cold Star is adept at developing new ways to blend science and creativity into projects for stage, screen, theatre and education, often bringing together artists with scientists, science communicators and creative technologists to develop high quality productions.
Each project is a hub for creative production techniques to pilot new storytelling and performance methods, and to develop the next generation of creative media talent.
